Polmaily ran a race full of promise on his debut here in August and has every chance on that evidence but that was on fast ground and at likely odds on a soft surface today he looks worth taking on, with preference for Manalito who gets the vote ahead of Sortita. The last mentioned is a well related daughter of Monsun, who should handle the underfoot conditions and trainer Michael Jarvis is more than capable of producing one to win first time out. The same can be said of Paul Cole but his runner General Eliott is far from certain to handle the cut in the ground, while Hellzapoppin should improve for his debut run but finished last of 14 on his debut and he is hard to recommend on that evidence. A chance then is taken with Mick Channon's Manalito who is a half-brother by High Chaparral to a useful performer in Italy, should relish the underfoot conditions and he looks worth chancing first time out.
