Sopranist could be interesting on his first start in handicap company however SAM SHARP should be happier here than at Epsom when last seen and he is given a chance to atone; he may have most to fear from Smart Endeavour and Yorgunnabelucky. The last-named was visually impressive when sauntering to victory at Redcar last time. However the handicapper thought so too and he has allotted him a mark of 92. Now this progressive son of Giants Causeway may be good enough to cope with that but the feeling is that the 84-rated rival who was back in third ran well below par and it would be unwise to get too carried away. Mutamaashi should appreciate this easier race than last time in the Britannia Stakes, Sporanist was not disgraced in a Listed contest last time behind Your Old Pal and his beating of Native Ruler on debut here reads well, whilst Smart Endeavour can improve for this longer trip but it is not guaranteed. Instead then we turn to Sam Sharp who was a Newbury winner in May. That came on soft ground so he should appreciate the forecast rain and now back on a more conventional track he should run a big race at rewarding odds. Laaheb is the choice of Richard Hills and he can be competitive off this mark of 82 following an easy Yarmouth win last time, whilst Just Like Silk and Classically have become frustrating to follow. An open race where Dangerous Midge is yet another to consider, however we are happy to side with Sam Sharp.
