Verdict

Asian Heights has solid claims judged by official BHB ratings but is difficult to recommend on last season's evidence and a better bet looks to be Palomar, who is preferred to Foreign Affairs. With Sir Mark Prescott's string clearly in good heart at this early stage of the season, the last mentioned has to be respected but he is not likely to find things easy giving weight away all round. Balkan Knight is likely to need the run as most of the stable's horses have tended to do so this term so preference is for Palomar. Roger Charlton's gelding ran an encouraging race on his first start for his current handler at Ripon last month and should come on a bundle for the run. Feed The Meter looks to be out of his depth, while Admiral's Cruise was well beaten on his return and a safer bet looks to be Palomar, who gets the vote.
