    Verdict

Fajr has shown improved form on the all-weather this winter and may well be able to carry on the progression returning to turf but Gay Kelleway's gelding has shot up in the weights and preference is for the reappearing Putra Kuantan, who gets the vote ahead of Hail The Chief. The last mentioned has taken advantage of a lenient turf mark in comparison to his all-weather rating but now seems to be in the grip of the handicapper so he may be best left out of calculations. Kevin Ryan's horses have generally been in good form this term so Wigwam Willie has to be respected but he needs to improve on recent form, while Skidrow may need the outing. Ettrick Water comes from a yard very much in form right now so lack of a run need not be of concern for Luca Cumani's gelding but preference is for Putra Kuantan. The Michael Jarvis-trained gelding also lacks a previous run this term but the yard's runners have generally been fit enough to do themselves justice first time out and he gets the vote to make a winning return under conditions that suit.
