An interesting mix of experience and potential on show in the opener and only a speculative nomination goes to Infatuate, who is selected ahead of old rival Dansili Dancer and Bolodenka. The last named rates as good value at the likely odds after his solid performance on the Rowley Mile in May. A 61-day absence since then is a little off putting. But the son of Soviet Star has improved with each run and the hint should not be ignored if there is good money to support his claims. Dansili Dancer won well at Goodwood last month and shapes as if there is plenty more to come from him. Phillip Robinson has seen fit to make himself available to ride him again and he too cannot be ignored. Another to throw into the mix is Humble Opinion, who, although more exposed, is a proven tough performer that will act on the ground. His stable are in good form at present and the son of Singspiel is capable of going close in this company. However, Infatuate just edges the vote on this occasion. It was a good effort from the James Fanshawe-trained gelding when he gave Dansili Bay 5lb and a beating at Leicester and, with the promise of further improvement to come, Infatuate is expected to uphold the form today.
