Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

Newcastle maiden winner Barbee was highly tried in a Listed race here last time and may do better dropped into a nursery today but Ed Dunlop's filly faces no easy task giving so much weight away to recent Brighton winner Wohaida, who gets the vote with Starlarks rated the pick of the remainder. The selection has improved with each start, was good value for that Brighton success and she looks to be fairly treated off a mark of just 70. Richard Hannon has had another good season with his juveniles and his runner here Souter's Sister is undoubtedly better than she showed in Newbury's Super Sprint last time but she looks a shade high in the weights. Blushing Maid is going the right way but this looks tougher than the maiden that she won at Bath last time and of more interest may be Starlarks, who ran below expectations at Salisbury recently but she was not able to dominate that day and may do better if able to lead here. Wohaida has plenty going for her though and she gets the vote.
