Verdict

PALAVACINI can leave his Newbury form behind and get the better of Spring Of Fame and Your Old Pal. The Giant's Causeway colt chased home none other than Delegator on debut before being made favourite to win a well-contested Conditions Stakes at Newbury which went the way of Derby hope Taameer. His seasonal return, where he was a neck in front of Your Old Pal, was arguably a shade disappointing but he was keen and would have appreciated a stronger pace and may possibly have needed the run. Spring Of Fame makes his debut for a new yard and has progressed with each and every start. He has a raft of big race entries and could be exciting but the Kempton form has taken a few knocks and this requires a further step forwards. Heliodor shaped as though his debut would do him good when behind Redwood and this tough sort should be in the shake-up whilst Your Old Pal was backed as though defeat was out of the question at Newbury and has a Dante entry. Sopranist lowered the colours of Derby springer Native Ruler (a winner since) and he may prove capable of taking this next step in his career but we're going to stick with the more experienced Palavacini.
