    Verdict

    CASUAL CONQUEST can begin this season as he did his last and confine Spanish Moon and Bronze Cannon to supporting roles. This race has been used as a launchpad for some top class horses in recent seasons and Dermot Weld will be hoping that Casual Conquest can follow in the footsteps of Shirocco rather than Getaway. Third at Epsom and second at the Curragh; it's surely just a matter of time until a Group 1 comes the way of this son of Hernando and he has all the requisite big race entries in place for a pivotal season. Bronze Cannon hasn't enjoyed the strong pace that he needs over ten furlongs on either start this season but he could benefit here if this becomes tactical. This is his level though and he'd need the selection to misfire in order to take the top prize. Spanish Moon appears to be an improved performer this term if his narrow defeat in a Nad Al Sheba Group 1 is to be believed and it would certainly come as no surprise given his trainer's track record. All The Aces should improve this season but is likely to need more time until he's capable of challenging Casual Conquest.
