The step up in trip is expected to suit Harland and he gets the nod over Top Tiger and Murdoch, while support for newcomer Crispian would also be interesting. The last named cost 105,000 euros and is bred to be suited by this sort of distance. His stable are capable of getting one ready and big run is a distinct possibility. Murdoch showed promise on his debut at Bath last October and is open to plenty of improvement. There is stamina on the dam's side of his pedigree and he can also make his presence known. Top Tiger caught the eye when he was introduced at York five months ago and he can be expected to be more like the finished article this afternoon. The trip should suit and he rates as a big threat to the selection. However, Michael Jarvis excels with horses like Harland and this Derby entry is expected to rise to the challenge today.
