Bill Turner has been singing the praises of Goldhill Fair in the build up to this historic contest and, considering the Somerset-based trainer's record in the race, his charge edges the vote of confidence over Not My Choice and Mister Hardy. Betting market moves for Silver Wind and The Magic Blanket would also be interesting to note. The last named hails from a yard that won this three years ago and can be expected to be primed and ready, while Silver Wind is a half-brother to several sprint winners and is worthy of a place on the shortlist. Mister Hardy has a mixture of speed and stamina in his pedigree and, as a son of Kyllachy, he can be expected to benefit from the experience. He is very much a long-term prospect. Not My Choice is related a hatful of winners on the continent and, being by the ultra-tough Choisir, he has plenty of steel in his make up. He represents shrewd connections and would be dangerous to rule out. However, Turner's assessment that Goldhill Fair has many of the attributes shown by his previous contenders is a strong recommendation. And, given that the son of Bertolini can be expected to know what is required from him at the first time of asking, he is fancied to hold the cutting edge when it really matters.
