This race could pan out nicely for BARNEY MCGREW who is taken to defy a career high mark; Sunrise Safari and Excusez Moi are others that could feature. There should be plenty of pace on here with the likes of Epsom winner Baldemar and Thebes in the line-up and, whilst that pair can't be ruled out, it could set the race up for the hold-up horses. Barney McGrew always needs a little luck in running and is thoroughly exposed but he's weighted to reverse Doncaster form with Roker Park (2lbs better off for half a length) and has won over course and distance. Sunrise Safari didn't appear to enjoy himself at Epsom in the race won by Baldemar but that has seen him drop in the weights to a mark of 82 which should mean that he's competitive given that he finished runner-up over course and distance of a mark of 85 in April. Excusez Moi has his off days but he's a smart sprinter when in the mood and he should be able to travel off a strong pace in this contest although it's a concern that he's finished well beaten on his two previous visits. Typically competitive fare but Barney McGrew looks a rock solid option to run a big race.
