Verdict

OUT THE RING is narrowly preferred here to Ignatieff and Archers Road if he turns up after his win on Thursday. The selection was well-touted ahead of his recent Kempton debut and ran a fair race in defeat. He was found out by a more professional horse in Star Rover and he looks sure to have learnt plenty from the run. Linda Stubbs does very well with her juveniles and therefore Ignatieff, a fairly well-related but cheap gelding, is one to consider along with Trade Secret who was fourth in the Brocklesby and deserves plenty of credit for that run. Ytartfawn looks the pick of Paul Midgley's pair, whilst Adrian Nicholls looks an interesting booking for Noel Wilson's Lady Lube Rye. Brian Ellison is not renowned for debutante winners but it would be unwise to rule out Lily Lenor who makes her debut today, especially if there was any market support, but it is Out The Ring who can get back the losses.
