Richard Hannon won this in the steward's room last year but it is unlikely that either of his entries will be up to the task this time and preference is for Qalahari, while Pyrrha may be next best. The selection ran second in a Bath fillies' maiden last time and it was not a bad contest of its type, with the winner already having shown up well on her debut. With the experience under her belt and a sound surface in her favour she can break her duck. Pyrrha finished in front of Blue Arctic at Yarmouth on their respective debuts recently. Without knowledge of how both of them took that race, it looks as though Pyrrha can confirm placings from 2lb better off at the weights. Damassin can improve for a pleasing Salisbury debut with the yard's runners going pretty well, while Riolina has the pedigree to prove best of the newcomers, but Qalahari is the selection here.
