An apprentice handicap kicks off proceedings and Wee Charlie Castle can follow up his Yarmouth win here at the main expense of Double Spectre and Compton Charlie. The selection was a runaway winner at the seaside track in a similar contest and a 6lb penalty does not look enough to anchor him based on that evidence. The step back up in trip by a furlong should not inconvenience and we'll side with him. Double Spectre drops back a furlong after winning at Salisbury last time and has gone up 5lb for that success. He looked suited by the test of stamina and should be good enough to get heavily involved again. Compton Charlie has been running consistently well and was almost rewarded in a minor contest last time. He acts on any ground with good in the description and cannot be discounted. King Of Connacht has a lot to find with the selection, Fouth Dimension probably wants further than this, while Alexander Guru seems to reserve his best for artificial surfaces. Wee Charlie Castle gets the vote.
