In depth

Verdict

A competitive finale, which can go to the improving Look Again; Hambleden, Jack Of Trumps, Bay Story and Sentinel also merit close scrutiny. Sentinel came back from a long absence to finish a fine third at Newmarket on his only start this season. Peter Chapple-Hyam's charge won't mind the drop to a mile and a half and is back on same mark as when second in the Northumberland Plate a couple of years ago. Hambleden will relish the return to handicaps and could prove hard to beat after dropping back to a winning mark. This game and useful performer was not disgraced behind Defining in a non-handicap at Newmarket last time. Michael Jarvis' eight-year-old should enjoy the return to handicap company here and appears to be back on a winning mark. Bay Story is lightly-raced and although slightly disappointing at York last time he was unable to dominate from the front on that occasion and that appears to be his forte. Jack Of Trumps has been knocking at the door but does give the impression he will find one or two too good at this level. However, the one we just prefer here is Amanda Perrett's Look Again. This lightly-raced four-year-old is improving with every start and just found one too good at Sandown last time out when beaten just a short head by I'm So Lucky. Look Again has shaped as though he will appreciate the step up to this twelve furlongs and remains unexposed in handicaps, so he is taken to go one better under Johnny Murtagh.
