Verdict

A similar scenario to the first division faces punters. HISTORY LESSON is selected but Makhaaleb is another with ability and newcomers such as Al Marmoom merit respect. Richard Hannon has a typically strong hand in this division and the Queen's colt caught the eye on debut behind Nasri when tenderly handled. The extra furlong and experience should help to see him in a better light and he could surprise. Makhaaleb failed to build on a pleasing debut effort but still holds a Royal Lodge entry for next weekend and may yet be able to deliver. Al Marmoom is well-entered up, well bred and from a yard with a twenty per cent strike rate with their juveniles this season. The market should guide but Control Zone, Gibb River and Splendorinthegrass are other names that can be thrown into the ring. Time will tell what they are capable of but History Lesson has already given us some indication; we liked what we saw, the form has worked out really well and he's taken to open his account.
