Verdict

This contest features a number of horses that will be heading on to the Cambridgeshire and will be informative. The last three winners have come from stalls nineteen and twenty ending the dominance of those drawn low to middle and won't hinder Ask The Butler's chances but the penalty might as it may for the inexperienced Rose Street. Luca Cumani has a strong hand and we're going to put PRESVIS forwards with Monte Alto and Prince Kalamoun also worthy of respect. Presvis was a shade unlucky not to beat Unshakeable when not enjoying the run of the race and he will need better luck to overcome a 5lb rise in a stronger contest. He appeals as a similar sort to last year's winner Monte Alto whilst the yard also took this in 2006. Monte Alto was only beaten four lengths in the Cambridgeshire from a similar mark, is only four and may still have more to offer; he's been freshened up with an autumn campaign in mind and shouldn't be overlooked. Ask The Butler had a number of these behind when winning at Sandown and is 4lbs well in despite his penalty. The race should be run to suit but he has to prove his effectiveness with ease in the ground. Prince Kalamoun is also well in and Alan Swinbank sent out subsequent Cambridgeshire winner Formal Decree to finish third in this race in 2006. Rose Street's inexperience may just find her out but there are no worries for Indian Days on that score and he could go well. He's on a career high mark but has proven form in similar events and with cut in the ground so has to be on the short-list. We just feel that we haven't seen the best of Presvis yet and that he can prove to be a good deal better than his current mark this afternoon.
