Verdict

MOORHOUSE LAD is selected ahead of Rebel Duke and Jargelle. Bryan Smart won this race last year and if anything, Moorhouse Lad is looking a much stronger horse this season. He was far from disgraced at Nottingham and can confirm form with Rebel Duke at these much better terms. Paul Hanagan has been booked for the mount on Jargelle. She has plenty of early pace and her first run back will not have been lost upon her. Striking Spirit and City Dancer are probably best watched first time out despite Dandy Nicholls stable being amongst the winners. Grissom is out of his depth. Moorhouse Lad hasn't always achieved what he has promised but has no excuses this afternoon.
