In depth

Verdict

Given A Chance is selected ahead of Bronwen and Smooth Jazz in the maiden. James Given's charge looks tailor made for this trip on breeding and provided that he has trained on as a three-year old, the form book evidence suggests that he will be very difficult to oppose. Bronwen was enough though of to warrant Group 1 entries as a juvenile. She didn't achieve at that age and the fact that she failed to attract any support in a similar race at the course suggests that she might be worth opposing. Smooth Jazz is out of an unraced half-sister to Derby winner Old Vic. He looks to be the type who needs plenty of work to get him to full fitness but he will be winning races this year. We Are The Chelsea ran green on his first start and is best watched. Sea Heir is a home-bred son of Richard Fahey's Princely Heir. Graceful Air is hard to fancy. Given A Chance is most definitely given a chance by ourselves in the sixth race on the card.
