This does not look to be the strongest of races and Ravenscar gets the vote to follow up his recent Worcester success at the main expense of Gerrard and Camdenation. The last mentioned sprung a surprise at Towcester in a beginners' chase last time and has to be respected on that evidence but his earlier form suggests that he may struggle in this company. Muttley Maguire has shown promise in all three starts but the handicapper has done Brendan Powell's gelding few favours and of more interest may be Robert Alner's Grandee Line, who has a nice racing weight. Bell Lane Lad must be considered a doubtful runner having made a belted return at Hereford yesterday and a bigger threat is likely to come from Gerrard. The seven-year-old showed improved form behind Meggie's Lad at Bangor last month and a reproduction of that effort would see him go close. The vote though goes to Ravenscar, who may have more to do off an 8lb higher mark than when scoring at Worcester but this looks to be a weaker contest and the softer surface will probably help.
