In depth
Verdict
This should not take a great deal of winning and Make It A Double should be able to confirm the promise of his debut success at Newbury and score at the main expense of Combat Drinker and Simple Glory. The selection lost no caste in defeat behind the River Phantom at the Berkshire venue when having 14 runners behind him and a reproduction of that effort should suffice. Combat Drinker has shown signs of ability and makes more appeal than Carluccios Quest, who has given little sign of encouragement so far. Edgemoor Princess is likely to be similarly outclassed and of more interest may be Chepstow winner Simple Glory, who was made to struggle under a penalty in a better race at Newbury last time but should appreciate the drop in class. Make It A Double has an obvious chance though and gets a confident vote.
