Verdict

The shortlist contains Insubordinate, Attacca and Ulysses with the vote going to Attacca. Being just a pound below a winning mark from last season now, Ulysses' chance cannot be dismissed, but Joshua's Gold looks held off this mark over this trip on Turf, although a place is not out of the question. Insubordinate ran very well from what seems to have been a modest draw at Redcar last time and, even though his best winning effort came on heavy, a good run cannot be ruled out. Obe One is very well-weighted on his best form of 2003 but he has yet to prove fully effective at today's trip. Insubordinate and Attacca are closely weighted based on heavy-ground course and distance form of March 31 but the latter, who has since run well from today's rating, looks poised to run a good race again. Proud Western is hard to fancy from out of the weights. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Attacca.
