A disappointing turnout for a huge prize, the first of many on a superb card. MARKET RALLY got a soft lead in the 2000 Guineas here last month and never at any stage looked like being caught. He finished 6l clear of Lazzam, who in turn was 7l in front of Hombre Rojo and though both should get closer with more forceful tactics it's difficult to see the form being reversed. Godolphin's two representatives in the Guineas ran poorly so they send out Blue Creek for this. A very impressive debut winner on New Year's Day, he looked a certainty for a handicap on his next start but missed the break and couldn't get close to Active Spirit, who easily won his subsequent start. That looked a blip and with more to come he looks the main threat.
