Potemkin may have enough firepower to sink this opposition and is selected ahead of the likes of Carry On Cleo, Tobago Bay and Karashar. The selection is just a fifty rated horse on the level but that was also true of Franchoek at around the same time last year and Alan King also introduced that useful hurdler at this track. He shaped well on his latest start on the level and looks sure to have a say in the outcome. Carry On Cleo's three wins all came on the all-weather and she failed to shine on grass on debut for this yard at Chepstow four days ago. She's probably best watched unless the market suggests to the contrary. Tobago Bay did everything right at Sedgefield but may struggle under a penalty in this company which looks a little tougher. Karashar is very well bred and did show a glimmer of ability in two runs on the level and is another to note in the market but Potemkin is taken to call the shots.
