Rio Royale may be worth another chance but Mick Channon saddles three and there are a couple of interesting newcomers to consider. The selection has had four outings already but seems to be holding his form well and looks capable of winning a small race. The form of his debut effort has worked out well and, although he hasn't improved a great deal on that effort, there was plenty to like about the way he stuck to his task in a novice stakes at Brighton last time. He's well drawn, has the speed to get the rail and should see out the longer trip. Desire To Excel hasn't built on a good start to his career and is drawn wide; he can be opposed again but Temperence Hall is well worth considering despite his high berth given that he can be expected to make considerable improvement from his debut. The market should help to sort out the trio from West Ilsley whilst Wilbury Star is well worth a second look given the strength in depth that Richard Hannon has at his disposal. The betting will be useful but Rio Royale looks sure to be in the firing line and is selected.
