Verdict
Not many can be considered in the final event despite the size of the field, and it should go to Rome, with Rodolfo and Eshbran Lad seen as the main rivals. Gerry Enright's four-year-old made satisfactory debut behind Chelsea Bridge at Kempton and duly went one better as expected at Hereford next time. That trip was a bit on the short side for the impeccably-bred gelding, and having landed a bit of a gamble when opening his account, will be entrusted with the cash again here. Oliver Sherwood knows the time of day with his bumper horses and Rodolfo returns to the scene of his debut victory 12 months ago. His experience should stand him in good stead, while Eshbran Lad can only improve on his Wetherby debut. The market may prove the best guide to the chance of Jonjo O'Neill's British newcomer Odd Job, down the field on his only start at Killarney last May.
