A wide open contest gets proceedings underway but the main protagonists appear to be Ashton Vale, Denise Best and Welcome To Unos but a chance is taken on Thoutmosis. The gelding from the bang-in -form Len Lungo yard won well on his debut and then was a fair third behind Bushido. This race looks easier and he will be hard to beat with conditions in his favour. Ashton Vale is another that is suited by conditions and he was a good third behind Lord Ville last time out. However he may struggle to give seven pounds to the less exposed Thoutmosis. Denies Best was a fair second in a maiden hurdle behind Ash Branch but he will need to improve again to win this. Welcome To Unos would be a danger to all on his best form but he does not always find as much as expected off the bridle and for that reason he is opposed.
