Course and distance winner Duelling Banjos looks well worth supporting here, although the lightly-raced Welcome Signal could be a big danger and Florian is another to consider in a decent finale. John Akehurst's gelding returned from a lengthy absence to score cosily in a course and distance handicap in March, and was not disgraced back on turf at Nottingham last time, finishing fourth in a classified stakes. Duelling Banjos is only five pounds higher than that latest win here, and should prove very hard to beat under Seb Sanders. James Fanshawe's horses are beginning to strike top form, and Welcome Signal could be a dangerous opponent on his handicap debut. He has shaped well in both starts this season, most notably when an unlucky-in-running third in a course and distance maiden last month. Florian was runner-up over seven furlongs here in January and was not disgraced on his first run for Terry Mills when fourth at Southwell last time, so is another with fair claims here.
