A typically informative maiden for the course opens the meeting; with a number of in-form Newmarket yards fielding representatives. Not least the Sir Michael Stoute team, who introduce Imperial Stride in this six-furlong dash. Kieren Fallon takes the mount on the 375,000-guinea purchase, and it will be interesting to see just how much support this brother to High Pitched attracts from the ring at the likely cramped odds. However, it will be a major surprise if he cannot start to justify his price tag today, even though he will be seen to better effect over further in time. Forthright, a son of Cadeaux Genereux also makes plenty of appeal as one for the future, but he may have to settle for a supporting role on this his racecourse debut. Spin King has plenty of speed in his pedigree from his dam¿s side and is another to take notes on for next time. Where as, Jesse Samuel, was staying on when it was all too late on his debut at Lingfield a fortnight ago, and it is unlikely that he will have improved enough keep tabs on his rivals if there is a similar strong pace on here. It looks to be another good opportunity for Stoute and Fallon to enhance their strike-rate together.
