Racing Night looks capable of getting off the mark at the third time of asking, with Springalong and High Action the main dangers. Ed Dunlop's gelding was a beaten favourite on his latest start, when only managing fourth place in a Goodwood maiden. He was well backed on that occasion, and clearly better was expected after an encouraging debut at Ripon when fourth to Always Esteemed. We are prepared to forgive him that last effort, and give him a chance to make amends here, at the main expense of Henry Cecil's Springalong. The Gone West colt was up with the pace throughout when finishing fourth in the Wood Ditton Stakes on his only start so far and looks sure to win a race or two on that evidence. Sir Michael Stoute saddles High Action for his reappearance here, and although he showed little on his sole start last year, it would be no surprise to see him improve significantly on that effort this season.
