Most of these would be happier with a few hurdles in the way, so with that in mind, DOUBLY GUEST is easily the most appealing option. He is fancied to outstay Warrior Conquest and Mohawk Star. The last named has a better record on the All-Weather track at Kempton than he does on Lingfield's turf course, so needs to be at his very best this evening. Still, he did run encouraging race over course and distance 10 days ago and is no forlorn hope at this level. Warrior Conquest is bred to be suited by a test of stamina and shaped up nicely when tried over two miles at Kempton at the start of this month. The four-year-old is open to more improvement and is one to seriously monitor in the betting. Star Of Pompey and Royal Premier have similar profiles, so should also be noted with interest. However, Doubly Guest - runner up in a Grade 2 hurdle earlier this year - is the best prospect on show. A former inmate of Nicky Henderson's, the five-year-old has recently moved across Lambourn to Barry Hills' yard at Farringdon Place - a move which is expected to provide an instant return if Doubly Guest runs to his true capabilities tonight.
