Although making his AW debut Skylarker is taken here to score for his new connections despite not having the best of draws. A model of consistency last season he ran some great races in defeat and if taking to this polytrack he should take all the beating at a decent price. My Maite has the look of an improving horse this season and has some useful form on this track (won here in October). The application of first time blinkers may count against him, though he is still expected to run a big race for his in-form trainer. Free Option's run at Sandown last season is arguably the best form in the race and a reproduction of that run off this lower rating should see him go close though his most recent form is nothing special. Jewel Of India will have his supporters and seemed to improve for his recent change of stable. If showing more improvement over this longer trip then he deserves to be in the firing line come the finish. French Horn looks another horse on the upgrade and there was much to like about his last time out effort over course and distance. He will need to improve again to go close. Lygeton Lad, although in great heart at present, has yet to really prove he stays 10f and may be best watched here. Both Dower House and Mr Sandancer have slipped nicely down the weights but can hardly be backed with confidence at short prices considering their most recent form.
