Another typically trappy Lingfield handicap, in which there are more negatives than positives about the runners, but TEN DOWN is capable of taking it from Brandywell Boy and Poppanan. Micky Quinn's gelding has a great strike rate on the all-weather, with seven wins from 20 runs, albeit the last was back in March. These are racing at this level for a reason though, and there's not much decent, recent form to be shouting about. Poppanan is the least exposed, with this just his fourth run. Disappointing here on debut, he then won a Bath maiden and was runner up here on his handicap debut last month. There's probably still improvement to come, and he's got a decent draw. Brandywell Boy is off a realistic mark, and did win two runs back at Goodwood, but has tasted success previously on the Polytrack. You can make a case for most in a wide open affair, but our support goes to Ten Down.
