Pat Phelan won a division of this race last year with Young Dottie, and her half-sister Baby Dottie is joined on our shortlist by Gifted Apakay and SUNARISE, with preference for Richard Hannon's filly. Sunarise was well down the field in a much better race than this on debut, but clearly there are high hopes for her, given a spring entry she holds at Newmarket. It's questionable how much there is here to beat, but support in the ring would encourage us. Gifted Apakay was placed on debut here last month, and looks open to improvement. A $75,000 purchase as a yearling, she's closely related to a number of winners. If you'd backed all the yard's runners here to level stakes over the past few years you'd be well in profit. Baby Dottie is one of only two runners here to have a mark, but she may be a little too high for what she's achieved to race in handicaps just yet. Sunarise is the one carrying our support.
