LADY LAM may be able to maintain her good run of form over this longer trip and is put forwards ahead of Recalcitrant and Major Promise. The selection's recent efforts have been at Brighton but she has a Kempton handicap win to her name so shouldn't be unduly inconvenienced by the return to racing on this surface. She battled on well to win over a mile last time having just missed out over seven prior to that and the way that she stayed on last time suggests that she's well worth trying at this trip. Recalcitrant has a long absence to overcome but the fact that Simon Dow has gone to the trouble of booking Jamie Spencer to take the ride suggests that he'll be ready to do himself justice on his return but he is an eighteen race maiden on the all-weather. Major Promise has been knocking on the door of late at Nottingham and is equally effective on an artificial surface whilst the handicapper has left his mark alone which will aid his chance of going one better but Lady Lam is on the up and preferred.
