Verdict

Hacienda looks the pick of Mark Johnston's two runners ahead of Sand Skier despite having disappointed at Haydock last time as his earlier form, in particular a decent second in a Group 3 race at The Curragh, looks good but a better bet may be QANOON. The American bred colt created a favourable impression when making a winning debut at Newmarket in May, running on well to win comfortably, and the William Haggas-trained colt looks to be well treated off a mark of 87. Mick Channon's Fresh Reserve has harshly gone up 4lbs for his narrow success at Newmarket last month and of more interest may be David Barron's Tres Coronas, who also won narrowly last time but he has only been raised 2lbs for his victory at Newcastle. Andrew Balding's Breakheart has improved with each start in maidens and opened his account when successful at Lingfield last time but he does not appear to be that well treated and a better bet looks to be Qanoon.
