SHEILA'S STAR is far from being ideally drawn but she may get away with it in this company and is preferred to Da Ponte and Soviet Spring. Stan Moore has his juveniles in good form having landed a bit of a touch at Windsor on Monday night with one having its second start and it would be no surprise to see Sheila's Star attract plenty of support following a respectable effort at Goodwood. The winner of that race went on to run at Royal Ascot and the Goodwood race looks to be a stronger race than this so she may not need to improve in order to take the spoils. Da Ponte caught the eye on debut at Warwick and is bred to appreciate the extra furlong as he moves up to seven; the second and third from his debut have turned in useful performances since to give the form a boost and he is far better drawn than the selection so is feared. Soviet Spring is one of the likelier looking newcomers but it's hard to get too excited about the remainder on the limited evidence available and Sheila's Star can shine.
