Verdict
A dreadful finale in which only two of the 10 runners have previously won races. Of the two, Park Star has slipped to an attractive mark following some disappointing performances and is difficult to recommend, while John Akehurst's Service, who won on her debut over five furlongs in June but who has failed to trouble the judge in nine since, at least showed signs of a return to form in selling company here over six furlongs last month. She may do better still back over the minimum trip and, in as poor a contest as this is, the daughter of College Chapel gets the vote. After three starts Sir Mark Prescott's On Point is now qualified for handicaps but may do better once tackling further, a comment that also applies to Almotawag. Although absent since October, a bigger danger to the selection may be the Nick Littmoden-trained Blonde En Blonde, who's overall form is good enough to take a hand in this race.
