          Verdict

          A low-grade handicap but a fairly competitive affair nonetheless with several possibles including Illusionist. Norma Macauley's charge is an infrequent winner and has been below his best latterly but hinted at a return to form when a close third in a seller over course and distance last time. This is tougher but the fitting of blinkers should sharpen him up so he may be capable of a little improvement. Noble Locks is well treated on the form of his hat-trick success on the all-weather last summer and should go well while Valuable Gift has shaped as though the step up in trip will suit so is another to consider despite top weight but the vote goes to Tancred Miss. The daughter of Presidium ran well when fourth in better company over six furlongs last week and will have no difficulty in seeing out the extra furlong having proven turf form over further so can be expected to figure off a 3lb lower mark.
