In depth
Verdict
Bank On Him has been in good form in similar company of late and should again prove tough to beat. Andrew Reid's gelding probably needed the run when a creditable sixth behind Willoughby's Boy on his return to action a month ago and duly stepped up on that effort when winning a seller over course and distance on his next start. Entitled to improve again for the run and with the weights in his favour, he looks the one to be on. David Elsworth's Indian Blaze is strictly held by the selection on running last time and is difficult to recommend although it is interesting that he takes on the Reid-trained horse again. The Alan Jarvis-trained Ali Can is well in on official BHB ratings but has shown little sign of encouragement in two starts on sand this winter. James Given's Mallard has claims if able to reproduce his best form but disappointed at Southwell last week and a bigger danger may prove to be Saxe-Coburg, who is unexposed over a trip that should suit.
