A wide open finish to the card but perhaps ALBIERA can draw enough improvement from this step up in distance to score from Three Thieves and Mr Plod. The selection makes her handicap debut having struggled to cut much ice over shorter trips but, representing shrewd connections and bred to be better than this rating, she might be worth siding with at the likely prices. Three Thieves is a danger to all if he can transfer the hurdle improvement of last winter to the flat game after almost a year on the sidelines. Jim Best's runners are going well and so any market support for this six-year-old would be worth noting in a race that won't take much winning. Mr Plod is another with chances having followed up a good effort off this mark with a novice hurdle success last time. Whether that jumps success can be transferred to today's race remains to be seen but the horse is clearly in good heart and remains unexposed so is worth watching. Iguacu is another who ran well last time although that was at Southwell and the geldings only run here resulted in a comprehensive defeat, but even so it may pay to forgive that one effort and with the George Baker yard returning to form it's not impossible that this one could find the necessary improvement to score. Jenny Soba is also interesting off top weight with Fallon booked whilst Turner's Touch needs a market check but this very poor contest can go to the unexposed Albiera.
