        Verdict

        KING'S APPROACH sets the standard and is preferred to newcomers George Baker and Pursuit Of Gold. Richard Hannon's Fasilyev colt was only beaten by just over a length on his racecourse debut at Nottingham and that run was filled with promise. He is quite an early foal and has evidently been quite quick to come to hand; he can win this before going on to better things over six furlongs. Petrocelli, Italian Tom and Polly Macho are two newcomers to watch in the betting, but of more interest is George Baker. Trained by George Baker, it is shame that jockey George Baker cannot ride here but his sire has started well with his first crop and there may be a precocious few in there. Royal Desert and Farmer Giles are both from powerful yards but neither really impressed on their first runs and each needs to improve, whilst Pursuit Of Gold is a well-related filly and her yard can ready a newcomer. A hard race to assess but preference is for the once-raced King's Approach.
