      Verdict

      Encore d'Or wasn’t winning out of turn at Yarmouth last month but he and last year’s winner Gracious John are old rivals and David Evans’ charge is the pick of the weights between that pair today. Now 11, MIRZA probably isn’t quite the force of old but he has been keeping better company than this in the current campaign and has performed well on occasions. His last run in a handicap came in this race 12 months ago and he is 11lb better off with Gracious John for a couple of lengths deficit so gets a tentative vote. Tanasoq finished ahead of the selection in the Beverley Bullet and was in fine form earlier in the year so is preferred to Blue De Vega, Kick On Kick On and Haddaf.
