In depth

Verdict

Marcus Tregoning has his string in good order just now and he can pick up again with Ifatfirst, who gets the vote over Magic Amigo and Discotheque. The last named is holding her form well and, having posted a fair effort on her only previous visit to Kempton, there are plenty of reasons to expect a bold showing from the filly. She is creeping back up the weights though and, as she finds it hard to get her head in front, she looks to be in the grip of the handicapper. Magic Amigo has gobne close on a couple of occasions of late and merits respect. However, he also looks vulnerable to a more progressive type and needs a little luck on his side. Which brings us back to Ifatfirst - a lightly raced gelding that rounded off last season in fine style with a victory at Lingfield. The son of Grand Lodge has a likeble pedigree and appears to have been provided with a solid chance of opening his 2007 account today
