Mid Valley gets the nod over Chalice Welcome and Deneuve, while Savoy Chapel is one to monitor at fancy odds. The last named has a bit to find with the selection from their encounter here eight days ago but is no forlorn hope to reach the frame. he acts on the track and a big run would come as no surprise. Deneuve was in the same race and has to enter calculations. The Mick Quinlan-trained gelding has been hard to win with so far, though and he needs everything to go his way. As does Chalice Welcome, even though his claims are solid when the best of his form is taken into account. However, Mid Valley has been banging on the door lately and, with a high draw and a proven liking for the course to bolster his chances, Mid Valley has too much in his favour to ignore this afternoon.
