held up rear, ridden and ran on to chase leaders over 2f out, not reach winner
tracked leaders, came wide into straight over 3f out and lost place
tracked leaders, shaken up over 1f out, led inside final furlong, ran on
keen, prominent, under pressure and beaten when hung left over 2f out
pushed along to lead, ridden when headed inside final furlong, one pace
mid-division, ridden and carried left over 2f out, stayed on
keen, towards rear, weakening when carried left over 2f out
always in the rear
A wide open handicap here with very little between many of the leading lights but the principals look to be Royal Envoy, Holbeck Ghyll and Dvinsky and the narrow vote is given to Royal Envoy. The selection won well last time out when beating Obe Royal with plenty in hand. Granted he is rising in the weights but he is progressive and with his yard continuing in good form he looks the one to be on. Holbeck Ghyll rates the main danger as he won well last time when beating Digital, that horse has since franked the form and if this hold up performer gets the breaks he will not be far away. Dvinsky is another last time out winner that could go well following his defeat of Prince Of Delphi but this looks tougher and he looks vulnerable from his revised mark. Double Bill has dropped to a handy mark and with his yard in form he should be watched in the market. Of the remainder Whitbarrow could have the race run to suit and could go well at a price but for the winner we return to Royal Envoy who looks progressive.
