mid-division, headway to chase winner on inside 1f out, not pace of winner
slowly into stride, ridden and some progress 2f out, one pace
led and keen, headed 2f out, hung left when hampered 2f out and weakened
held up, headway 2f out, stayed on
held up, headway on inside over 1f out, one pace
prominent, ridden over 2f out, weakened quickly and eased
in touch, hung right when weakened 2f out
went right start and never a factor
A trappy maiden here and, as usual in these events, the market will be very informative but the main protagonists look to be Spring Tale, Firth of Fifth and Smalljohn and the tentative vote is given to Firth of Fifth. The selection was a fair second behind Gone Hunting last time out; he looks sure to improve and looks the one to be on. Spring Tale is a well bred filly by Stravinsky from a yard that has already had winners this season and, with the booking of Jamie Spencer catching the eye, she looks one to note. Smalljohn was behind the selection last time and on the same terms here there is no reason why he should gain his revenge. Of the remainder Fasalee is another well bred type but should be suited by a longer trip in time and for the winner we return to Firth of Fifth.
