Pat Eddery's Resentful Angel won well enough over this trip at Lingfield when last seen in January but a 4lb rise for that success makes this more difficult for the five-year-old who has to now race off a career high mark and a better bet may be PENCHESCO, who gets the vote with Herschel rated the best of the rest. The selection has only won once from 16 career starts but has slipped to a fair mark now and he looks worth chancing on his reappearance with Amanda Perrett having her string in fair form. West Emirates has run to a consistent level of form having found one too good in each of his three starts so far and he has to be considered off a mark of 71 on his handicap debut. Ed Dunlop's Ateeb is similarly lightly raced but looks harshly treated off a mark of 69 for what he has achieved. Jeff Pearce's Formidable Guest is probably too high in the weights now, while Peter Hiatt's Whodunit has been well held off the mark that he races off today in each of his last two starts. Gary Moore's Herschel ran much better over this trip at Lingfield last month and he has solid claims off just a 1lb higher mark today but preference is for the reappearing Penchesco, who can give Amanda Perrett another winner.
