LUTINE CHARLIE just failed to give 5lbs to a useful Clive Brittain-trained filly last time but this return to the same course and distance can see Peter Winkworth's charge break his maiden, while San Cassiano could prove to be a danger on debut. The latter is by Bertolini and is related to winners over this trip as juveniles. He comes from a yard that can get them ready first-time and their 15 per cent strike rate with two-year-olds this season is slightly better than usual, so things are going well. He is definitely worth a peek in the market to see what sort of stable confidence there is for him. However, Lutine Charlie holds all the aces here after two decent efforts in defeat, including that run last time. The front pair were clear of the field and in context it looks a smart piece of form so we will side with him. Search For The Key can surely improve for a green enough Haydock debut and has been given some time by Paul Cole to come on for it, which may earn connections some more prize money, while Caldermud was educated nicely at Windsor before creeping into it late on and is another almost certain to benefit from that experience. Stablemate Phoenix Rose may appear to be first string with Adrian Nicholls up, although there was nothing red hot about her Lingfield debut behind subsequently beaten Florio Vincitore. Baralaka will probably be worth closer inspection when sent handicapping and Lutine Charlie is given the vote.
