Nonrunner
This is actually quite a competitive nursery despite its lowly grade and ITALIAN TOM is the suggestion to outpoint Papageno. The latter ran into a bit of form here last month when runner-up to Candyfloss Girl in a minor handicap and that was a good effort in context. Trip and surface clearly suit and he is not badly drawn here so we expect him to go well, but preference is for Italian Tom. Ron Harris has not had a winner for a little while, but that is not to say that his string aren't performing to the best of their limited ability and the selection is a case in point. A winner and runner-up in selling company when not weighted to particular advantage on either occasion, he is now 5lbs lower than his last sortie in handicap company and from a plumb rails draw he looks up to the task. Angie's Nap is up 2lbs for running second at Southwell last time but has to overcome a poor run on her only try on the Polytrack thus far, and although there are plenty of big numbers against his name, Rightcar may prove a better proposition. He appears adaptable as far as the surface is concerned and has some pretty reasonable nursery form on his CV. It has taken the assessor five runs to give I'malwaysright a mark and the Namid colt does act around here and is one of those potentially well handicapped first-timers in this grade. Not a race to be dogmatic about and Italian Tom is a tentative choice.
